Avast | Sophos Security Solutions Anti-Virus Solutions for Business and Home Computers
Anti-virus is an essential part of any computer system, with information flowing in and out of businesses on emails, memory sticks and from the internet, it is important to ensure you are protected. If you don’t protect yourself it could lead to loss of data and time, this is why we have 2 security vendors that we recommend. Avast for our home customers and small businesses without a server and Sophos for our larger businesses.
Up until recently Avast was only an anti-virus solution; they have now produced a complete Internet security package that includes everything you need to protect yourself. Before this we found it hard to fully recommend this product even though, if we suspected that a virus was on a PC and the user’s current security package said otherwise, we used Avast antivirus to double check and often it would find the suspected virus.
When you grow to having a server you will be of a size that means maintaining and being alerted of an infection can be hard as it could mean walking to each machine to ensure it’s up to date with no issues. With Sophos you can check at one central location and know all the information about your networks security.
Sophos also has a spam filter that works directly with exchange on the server. This ensures that the only emails that are getting to the desktop are relevant. It also means that the computers do not have to do unnecessary work.
